IUP Students Engage in Inspiring Public Speaking Session with Native Speaker from Egypt

Yogyakarta, 18 October 2025 — The International Undergraduate Program (IUP) students participated in an engaging Public Speaking Agenda held on Friday, 18 October 2025, at UIN Sunan Kalijaga. The event featured Dr. Mahmud Hamzawi Fahim Usman, a native speaker from Egypt, who shared his insights and experiences on effective communication and confidence-building in public speaking.

The session aimed to help students improve their English fluency, develop presentation skills, and boost their confidence when speaking before an audience. Mr. Hassan opened the session with an interactive talk about overcoming stage fright and understanding the cultural aspects of public communication.

During the workshop, students took part in several activities such as impromptu speaking, short group presentations, and feedback sessions. Many participants expressed their enthusiasm and appreciation for the opportunity to learn directly from a native speaker.

“I learned how to organize my ideas better and speak more confidently,” said one IUP student. “Mr. Mahmud gave us practical tips that we can use in class presentations and future careers.”

The event concluded with a Q&A session and a short reflection activity, where students shared what they had learned and how they planned to apply the techniques in their academic and professional life.
