IUP Students Join Weekly Public Speaking Workshop
IUP students of Arabic Language and Literature attend weekly Public Speaking workshop.
The International Undergraduate Program (IUP) of Arabic Language and Literature at UIN Sunan Kalijaga continues its weekly Public Speaking Workshop to help students improve their communication skills and confidence in English. Conducted every Friday, the workshop offers guided practice in delivering speeches, presenting ideas, and responding to audiences in a structured setting.
Each session highlights a specific skill, such as persuasive speaking, academic presentations, or impromptu speech. Students actively participate through group activities, short presentations, and peer feedback. The involvement of lecturers and occasional international guest speakers provides students with practical tips on clarity, body language, and effective delivery.
Many students have expressed positive outcomes from the program. One participant shared,
“This workshop has helped me speak more confidently. I used to feel nervous, but now I can present my ideas more clearly.”
The coordinator emphasized the workshop’s importance in shaping students’ global competencies.
“Public speaking is a key skill for academic and professional development. We want our students to be ready for international communication,”he said.
The weekly workshop has become an essential platform for IUP students to strengthen their public speaking abilities and prepare for future opportunities in a global environment.
